Decking

Decking is one of those products that require special attention.  Because it is exposed to the elements, it is subject to faster decay and rot rates.  In order to provide an adequate product, many manufacturers use toxic chemicals to pressure treat their decks while maintaining a relatively low cost.  This has some obvious benefits, mainly a low cost and flexibility of using more wood species, but it also sports many penalties like that of a finished product that carries toxic chemicals and has the unsightly residual green color pressure-treated products are known for.

The SeasonWood Decking Difference: Our heat modification process uses only steam and carefully controlled high temperatures to produce 100% natural thermally modified wood.  Our process allows us to produce the distinct pleasant medium brown tone SeasonWood is known for.  It even helps mask color variations such as the ones found in blue-stained pine.  Our natural decking products shrink and swell about 50 percent less when affected by rain or extreme weather conditions.  This enhanced stability simplifies installation and reduces the need for maintenance in the long run for a much longer-lasting and beautiful deck.
